to the Aquatic Health Program
Aquatic ecosystem health and the subsequent benefits to wildlife habitats, focus primarily on the control and management of invasive common carp which have reduced the capacity of refuge wetlands to support waterfowl by over 90%. Friends of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is part of a broad partnership to expand work on aquatic health beyond the Refuge boundaries, throughout the Harney Basin. Our group is very supportive of this initiative and we hope to help facilitate this broad partnership to improve wetland habitat and reduce the impacts of invasive carp in the Harney Basin. At the heart of this issue is the condition of Malheur Lake, one of North America’s wetland jewels, where we look forward to seeing a healthy marsh supporting hundreds of thousands of waterfowl in the future. Our group has set up a special account to solicit donations for aquatic health and will work with the other partners to improve wetland habitat quality in the Basin. Your generous donation to this important effort will help ensure the Refuge’s future aquatic health.
to Your Preferred Designated Donations
